硕士，副教授，毕业于厦门大学英语语言文学专业，研究方向：功能语言学、应用语言学等。现任外国语学院副院长。2004年2月开始在分校外国语学院工作。2004年9月至2010年7月一直负责大学外语部的教学管理工作，是大学英语教学改革的主要负责人。2010年9月至今，工作范畴调整为负责学院的行政和外事工作，主要包括学院行政事务、外教的管理以及国际合作办学项目，并继续负责大学英语精品课程建设。教授大学英语、综合英语、商务英语、商务英语翻译、雅思写作等课程。发表论文包括：《试从功能语法角度分析法律英语》、《The Value of Grammar Teaching in China》、《英语概念语法隐喻与语体探讨》、《大学英语网络听力教学实践与探讨》、《从系统功能语法角度论语态转换的功能》等。作为副主编参编两套大学英语四级考试教辅用书，分别为《大学英语四级考前测评---听力卷》和《大学英语四级710分新题型全攻略---听力卷》。
Xie Wenting got a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature (orientation: Funtional Linguistcs and Applied Linguistics) from Xiamen University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English education from Jiangxi Normal University. Since 2004 she has been teaching as a full time member of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. She is currently one of the vice deans of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. She was responsible for the management of teaching affairs of College English department in the Faculty of Foreign Languages from September of 2004 to July of 2010. Starting from September of 2010, her responsibilities have been transferred to the management of administration affairs and foreign affairs of the faculty as in overseas teachers’ recruitment, their daily affairs, teaching affairs and international co-operation projects.
She has ever taught quite a number of courses for English and Non-English majors, including College English, Intensive English Reading, Business English, Business English Translation, IELTS Writing, and so on. Her research interests mainly lie in functional linguistics, applied linguistics, critical discourse analysis and discourse analysis of news media. Her graduation thesis concentrates on how the voice transformation embodies the hidden ideology in news discourse on the basis of Systemic-functional grammar and critical linguistics. Her publications include: An Analysis of Law English from Functional Grammar, The Value of Grammar Teaching in China, A Probe into Ideational Grammatical Metaphor and Genre, An Analysis of College English Online Listening Teaching, On the Function of Voice Transformation from Systemic Functional Grammar. The books she edited as the associate editor are Before CET4 Assessment — Listening (Publishing House of Electronic Industry, 2005) and The Strategy to New CET4 — Listening (Publishing House of Electronic Industry, 2007).
In 2010, she was awarded the title of “Excellent Administrator of the Year (2009-2010)” and “Excellent Academic Research Worker of the Year (2009-2010)” by the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai.
