郎芳(Nancy Lang)

湖北人。本科就读于华中师范大学外语学院英语语言文学专业,并同时辅修了华中师范大学新闻系的新闻学,获得了英语教育学士学位及新闻学学士学位。毕业后进入华中农业大学外语学院任英语教师,主要担任大学英语的教学工作。后考入武汉大学外国语学院英语语言文学专业攻读硕士,主要研究方向为应用语言学。读研期间曾先后在中南民族大学外语学院和武汉商贸学院教授过大学英语,英语国家概况,英语新闻报刊阅读,职业英语,经贸英语口语等课程。2005年进入北京师范大学珠海分校外国语学院工作,并于2006年评讲师职称,教授了大学英语,新闻出版英语,综合英语,四级英语等课程。发表过《预设在新闻报道中的作用》,《喜福会的后殖民女性主义解读》,《标题书名翻译的审美标准》等文章。

Lang Fang, whose English name is Nancy, comes from Hubei province. She has a Master’s degree from Wuhan University in English Linguistics and Literature and Bachelor’s degrees from the Central China Normal University both in English Education and in Journalism.

Nancy has been teaching English in colleges for more than twelve years since she graduated from the Central China Normal University. She worked in the Huazhong University of Agriculture and mainly taught College English Course. Later, while she was working on her Master’s degree, she taught temporarily in Central South China University for Nationalities and Wuhan International Trade College, where she tried different courses such as New Experiencing College English, the Society and Culture of Major English-Speaking Countries, English News Reading, International Business Talks, English at Work, and so on. In 2005, she moved to Guangdong province and began to work in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai Campus. She became a lecturer the next year. She once gave lessons on News Publishing English, New Horizon College English, and College English Test Band Four. Now she is teaching English majors Comprehensive English and none-English majors Headway.

Although her specialized direction is applied linguistics, Nancy is quite interested in both literature and second language acquisition. Until now, she has published several papers, including “The Pragmatic Functions of Presupposition in News Reports”, “A Post-colonial Feminist Reading of Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club”, “Aesthetic Criteria for Title Translation”.

Nancy loves teaching and enjoys learning with her students. She also takes an interest in learning different foreign languages. She has passed TFU-IV (French Test of University-Level Four) and can read and speak some French. Much impressed by the amazingly popular Japanese cartoons, now she is also trying to learn some Japanese. She also likes travelling and watching movies.
